During your coach trip to Whitby, make sure you stop off at some of the top attractions. You will have at least 5 hours to enjoy everything Whitby has to offer, from it's history to its idyllic beaches.
Whitby Abbey looms over Whitby, sitting proudly above the town on East Cliff. The spectacular ruins of the 13th-century Abbey are a total delight to all visitors of Whitby.
While exploring the Cliff tops, you can revel in the beautiful views across the harbour and watch as the boats moor up. You can take the 199 Steps up to East Cliff which is another popular tourist attraction.
Whitby is said to be the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula, why not take one of the historic tours to learn more? Perhaps you'll be inspired to do some writing or painting of your own.
If you're worn out by the 199 steps, you can explore Whitby Brewery, a popular stop-off point after the climb. Set in a converted barn you can enjoy a locally brewed tipple or two before your descent.
Capital Cook Memorial Museum is certainly not to be missed either. The harbourside house was home to James Cook during his youth and is the perfect opportunity to learn more about this intrepid explorer.
